Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using fourpoket ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Beta Status

fourpoket is currently in beta. The Service is under active development and may contain bugs, incomplete features, or unexpected behavior. AI-generated output may not always meet your expectations or produce the desired results. By using the Service during beta, you acknowledge and accept these limitations.

3. Description of Service

fourpoket is an AI-powered code assistant that operates through a command-line interface. The Service reads your codebase, processes requests through AI models, and writes changes to your files based on your instructions.

4. Account and Billing

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Billing operates on a prepaid balance model — you top up your balance and usage is deducted per AI call based on actual token costs.

All purchases are final and non-refundable. Once balance is added to your account, it cannot be refunded, reversed, or transferred. This applies regardless of whether the AI output meets your expectations, as each request consumes real compute resources from third-party AI providers the moment it is processed.

5. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

You may provide your own API keys for supported AI providers. When using BYOK, no balance is deducted from your fourpoket account. You are responsible for any charges incurred directly with the AI provider. fourpoket is not responsible for costs, outages, or policy changes from third-party AI providers.

6. Your Code and Data

fourpoket reads your source code locally via the CLI and sends relevant portions to AI providers for processing. We do not store your source code on our servers. AI providers may have their own data retention policies — please review the terms of the AI provider being used for your requests.

You are solely responsible for your source code and any changes made to it. The Service modifies files directly on your machine. We strongly recommend using version control (such as Git) and committing your work before running any AI session. The CLI displays a warning if no Git repository is detected.

fourpoket is not responsible for any code loss, corruption, or unintended modifications resulting from AI-generated changes. If you do not maintain backups or version control, you accept full responsibility for any consequences.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to generate malicious code, exploit vulnerabilities, or engage in any activity that violates applicable laws. You are solely responsible for the code generated through the Service and for reviewing all changes before deploying them to production.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that AI-generated output will be accurate, complete, functional, or suitable for any particular purpose.

fourpoket is not liable for any damages resulting from the use of AI-generated code, including but not limited to bugs, security vulnerabilities, data loss, business interruption, or failure to produce expected results. You are solely responsible for testing, reviewing, and validating all code changes before use.

In no event shall fourpoket's total liability exceed the amount you have paid to fourpoket in the 30 days preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of significant changes via the website or email.
